Coffee in Jackson MS

There's nothing quite like the smell of freshly brewed beans in the morning to wake you up and get you ready to tackle the day.

Whether you prefer yours black and strong or lightly sweetened and topped with whipped cream, there's a coffee out there for everyone in the City With Soul.

Soulé Coffee and Tea - Fondren

Alongside crafted bubble teas and refreshers, espresso-based drinks, teas, and more, musician and entrepreneur Ezra Brown brings the newest kid to the coffee (and bubble tea) block in Fondren Village near Quizno's.

Order and pay for your handcrafted beverage with technology like the cafe's self-serve, cashless checkout experience, and watch for business development events and live music and art openings.

The Bean - Fondren

The Bean was once known as Sneaky Beans when former owner Byron Knight was around. In early 2020, he sold to Kristy Buchanan, who reopened in early June of the same year. Buchanan, who calls JXN her adopted home, is committed to the community feel Knight offered and to the quality beverages he used to serve.

The Bean offers the usual slate of drinks – made with Hattiesburg-based Grin coffee and espresso – as well as draft beer and wine.

Daily breakfast, lunch and evening small plates and desserts are all on the menu, too, as well as comfortable places to gather within the shop, outside on the porch, or on the new back patio, especially when the shop hosts live music or trivia. Their walk-up window is convenient, too.

Events for kids and live music make this a staple for the neighborhood.

Northshore Specialty Roasters Cafe - LeFleur East

Northshore Specialty Roasters has landed at The District at Eastover, serving up expertly roasted coffee, espresso-based drinks, and teas, alongside local craft beer and bites from Sunflower Oven and La Brioche.

Bright and welcoming, this café is designed as a “third space”—not home, not work, but the perfect in-between for catching up with friends, knocking out emails, or just soaking in the vibes (and caffeine).

Their passion for coffee shines through in every cup, whether you’re sipping a meticulously brewed pour-over or a rich, velvety latte. And with a lineup of rotating specialty drinks, there’s always something new to try.

Cultivate Coffee Project - Belhaven Town Center

Cultivate Coffee Project—the nwest cafe on the block—is a joint venture from Northshore Coffee and Fertile Ground Beer, located in the heart of Belhaven Town Center.

The café serves up globally sourced, locally roasted coffee, complemented by signature drinks inspired by ingredients from the brewery (and Fertile Ground craft beer, too).

Open daily from 7 am to 5 pm, it’s a welcoming spot with plenty of space to meet, work, or relax. Fertile Ground's Matt Jeffries and Northshore's Trey Malone are committed to fostering a warm, inclusive atmosphere—one that brings people together through a shared love of craft, from seed to cup and grain to glass.

Native Coffee Company - Belhaven

Housed in Belhaven, Native Coffee Co., owned by husband and wife team Matt and Anna Flinn, embarked on their mission to bring world-class coffee to Jackson's community. Native Coffee opened its doors in 2020 during the same week as the COVID-19 shutdown.

Through their invaluable partnership with North Carolina's Black & White Coffee Roasters—one of the world's most prestigious specialty coffee roasters—Native Coffee offers Jackson access to exceptional coffees that enthusiasts worldwide seek. The shop honors its Mississippi roots with homemade biscuits, cinnamon rolls, muffins, and their renowned chocolate chip cookies.

Recognized by Food & Wine Magazine as the Best Coffee Shop in Mississippi, Native Coffee has become an ideal gathering spot where Matt and Anna make every customer feel "Native"—genuinely at home.

Cups - Fondren and LeFleur East (The Quarter)

A Fondren favorite, Cups flagship shop is located next to Fondren Public and is home to everyone’s favorite specialty drink: the blondie latte. Caramel and white Ghirardelli chocolate combined with espresso and milk, the blondie is served hot or frozen and has been a favorite of Cups lovers since day one.

Other menu items include the Capitol Street latte, which is caramel combined with espresso and milk, the brunette latte, iced coffee, café au lait, several espresso options, and loose-leaf tea options. Cups also makes another great study spot for local college students.

The quaint environment is perfect for studying for finals, conducting a one-on-one business meeting or just hanging out with a few friends after a long day.

Coffee Prose - Midtown and LeFleur East (Highland Village)

Opened in 2019 in Jackson’s Midtown neighborhood, Coffee Prose is part coffee shop, part used bookstore part pop shop.

In the morning, you'll find Guillermo Salinas's Just Vanilla Bakes pastries available.

Coffee Prose has an additional location in Highland Village that takes advantage of a lively center courtyard.

Urban Foxes in Belhaven Heights

Urban Foxes - Belhaven Heights

Urban Foxes will tell you they are first a pie and pastry shop (and a fine one, at that).

Cody Cox and wife/business partner Molly West renovated an old home on a mixed-use street, complete with a welcoming front porch and cozy backyard where local musicians and DJs offer intimate shows.

Back inside, Urban Foxes offers a precision-crafted caffeine fix, too, with drip-brewed coffee, pour overs and other specialty drinks. The shop serves Northshore Specialty Coffee hand-selected roasts and espresso, and Thunderhead Cold Brew by the bottle plus local craft and domestic beers.
