As part of the Opera Mississippi mission to identify and develop operatic and singing artists, we are proud to collaborate and support the education and professional training of student and emerging artists from educational institutions around the state of Mississippi. For these young singing artists, we present master classes, provide professional training for work both on and off stage, offer paid performances around our communities, cast them in various capacities for our mainstage productions, and connect them with seasoned professional artists and other industry professionals that we bring to Mississippi through our productions.

This spring, students and faculty from Lyric Stage at MC are thrilled to present an exciting musical theatre program as part of our Creating Connection Series. Join Dr. Nicholas Perna and spectacular young artists from the Mississippi College Music Department for an evening of Broadway hits featuring songs by Stephen Sondheim and Stephen Schwartz. You will hear popular tunes from shows such as A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Company, Into the Woods, West Side Story, Gypsy, Wicked, Pippin, and many more!
