Overview

This joint exhibition featuring Jana Cariddi and Eric Charlton features large playful multi-media and sculptural installations. Mumbo Jumbo takes playful shapes, vibrant colors, and a variety of materials to create whimsical physical forms.

About the Artists:

Eric D. Charlton is an American artist originally from the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Western Pennsylvania, who now lives and works in Jackson, Mississippi. Charlton’s work explores the desire for meaning and the lack of human understanding on a cosmic scale to the minutiae of the everyday. Charlton is an Assistant Professor of Studio Art at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi.

Jana Marie Cariddi (b. New Jersey, 1993) is an artist whose practice moves between painting, drawing, and sculpture. Her sculptural paintings function simultaneously as relic-like objects and spatial meditations. Cariddi’s work has been exhibited internationally and across North America, including a solo show at the SCAD Museum, and has been published in New American Paintings. She is currently a Windgate Visiting Artist Fellow in Jackson, Mississippi.

Join us for the free opening reception Friday, December 4th, from 5-7pm. The exhibition will be on view from December 4 - December 27, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. The gallery is also available Saturdays 11am-5pm.
