Jackson Indie Music Week

Now in its eleventh year, JIMWeek gathers independent artists from Mississippi and the region for a week of performances, panels, and artist conversations spread across some of the city's best venues. The festival runs March 23–28 with nightly shows at spots including Midtown Depot, Rami's, the Patton House, Duling Hall, Martin's Downtown, and Green Ghost Tacos. Cost: Varies by event

Hal & Mal's Trivia Night

Every Monday night in the Hal & Mal's Dining Room, trivia players get a chance to test their knowledge and walk away with prizes. It's a low-key, high-fun way to start the week. Cost: Free

Blue Monday

The Central Mississippi Blues Society brings the house band and an ever-changing lineup of special guests to Hal & Mal's each Monday night. You never know who might sit in — that's half the fun. Cost: $5

Karaoke Night in The Walk-In

Host Rett Robinson takes the mic — and then hands it over to you — every Monday night starting at 9pm in The Walk-In. No cover, no pressure, just good times in one of Jackson's most distinctive cocktail spots. Cost: Free

Jazz Night at Hal & Mal's

The Raphael Semmes Quartet holds down Tuesday nights in the Hal & Mal's Dining Room with an hour and a half of live jazz. It's the kind of evening that makes a Tuesday feel entirely worthwhile. Cost: Free

Chef Collab Dinner Celebrating Women's History Month

Amerigo Fondren's Senior Kitchen Manager Stephanie Bell joins forces with her counterpart from the Flowood location, Bridget Williams, for a four-course collaborative dinner paired with wines from women-led California wineries. The ticket covers the full dinner, pairings, tax, and gratuity. Cost: $100 per person

Friday, March 27

Mal's Marching MALfunction and Second Line STOMP

A long-standing St. Paddy's tradition, the Stomp kicks off at Cathead Distillery with food, drinks, and music before the whole crowd stomps its way to Hal & Mal's. It's the unofficial kickoff to parade weekend. Cost: Free

Morgan Freeman's Symphonic Blues Experience

At Thalia Mara Hall, the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra presents a groundbreaking concert experience pairing the deep roots of Mississippi Delta Blues with the scope of a full orchestra. Guided by the vision of Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman, the performance is described as an immersive journey through sound, culture, and storytelling — with his live appearance subject to change. Cost: $56 and up

Bruiser Wolf

A Detroit rapper who came up from arena football and landscaping before finding his voice in the Bruiser Brigade alongside Danny Brown, Bruiser Wolf brings hard-earned storytelling and a style all his own to The Red Room at Hal & Mal's. Hal's St. Paddy's Parade & Festival

Born on the streets of Downtown Jackson in 1983, Central Mississippi's annual "green Mardi Gras" has grown into one of the South's most beloved community celebrations. Starting at Cathead Distillery and ending at Hal & Mal's, the parade honors founder Hal White and benefits Children's of Mississippi, complete with the Sweet Potato Queens, the O'Tux Society's tuxedo-clad marchers, and the mysterious Buckethead judges. Cost: Parade is free; festival is ticketed

Saint Paddy's Crawfish Boil

The Ice House hosts an all-you-can-eat Louisiana-style crawfish boil with live entertainment and St. Patrick's Day energy to match. It runs from 1pm to 7pm — plenty of time to make it part of your parade day plans. Cost: $40

Hal's St. Paddy's Parade & Festival's Official Afterparty

The parade rolls on at Hal & Mal's with doors at noon and the show starting at 2pm, featuring DJ 13lackbeard, The Chee-Weez, AJC & The Envelope Pushers, and Honey Island Swamp Band. It's an all-ages celebration that runs well into the evening. Cost: $15 early bird / $20 advance / $25 day of show

Martin's Downtown St. Paddy's After Show with DJ Swiftie

When the parade winds down, the night keeps going at Martin's Downtown with The DJ Swiftie, billed as the world's #1 Taylor Swift Tribute DJ, bringing electrifying mixes and a crowd-ready celebration to cap off the day. Cost: $12.51
