Whether you're a foodie in search of cozy local spots or upscale dining recognized by the MICHELIN Guide or James Beard Awards, Jackson's restaurant roster is sure to satisfy. The city also offers nearly two dozen award-winning museums, the world where a Pulitzer Prize-winning author found inspiration, soul-stirring sounds that originated here, and the spirited Jackson State Tigers.
If you arrive Monday...
You'll have the option of a guided tour of the historic Fondren district at 5:30 pm, led by NTC Vice President Paul Wolf, followed by dinner in the neighborhood (BBQ, Mediterranean, Italian, or American classics, anyone?) If you want a late evening, live music option, there's Blue Monday, a Jackson tradition, at Hal & Mal's. Email your Monday interest to pwolf@visitjackson.com.
Our Tuesday morning meeting
The meeting begins at 10 a.m. in the Visit Jackson conference room at 308 East Pearl Street. We'll have coffee and pastries! Ample paid street parking is available at approximately $1 per hour. Tuesday lunch options afterward include two downtown classics: Hal & Mal's and Keifer's.
A special rate will be available at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Jackson Fondren Medical District ($129 per night), a short drive from downtown.
