Midtown

Midtown is a diverse, up-and-coming neighborhood located just north of downtown Jackson, adjacent to Millsaps College and Baptist Hospital and two blocks from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

The Midtown Arts District brings a thriving artist community to the capital city, including welders, carpenters, painters, sculptors, glass artists, seamstresses, and industrial designers.

The Midtown Sculpture Walk is a great example of the area's diverse talent and is a quiet spot to reflect and be inspired. The neighborhood has plenty of additional street art murals on display, and a full list and interactive guide can be found here.

CS's

Midtown is also home to many of the city's philanthropic efforts, including Big House Books, a volunteer nonprofit that sends free books by request to prisoners in Mississippi correctional facilities to promote literacy and advocate for prison reform. Grace House is another organization down the street that provides supportive services, housing, and case assistance to the most vulnerable in Jackson's community.

Start off exploring or art perusing with a cup of joe from Coffee Prose Midtown. AND Gallery is an independent, artist-run space for emerging artists to work, experiment, and exhibit. CS's Jackson is a long-standing burger and wings joint that will satisfy the hungriest of customers.
