Overview

Louisiana blues guitarist Tab Benoit brings his Soul of the Swamp Tour to Martin's Downtown with Jesse Dayton. Since his 1992 debut, Nice and Warm, Benoit has drawn comparisons to Albert King, Albert Collins and Jimi Hendrix, built a reputation as Louisiana's number one blues export and kept a touring schedule of 250 shows a year. He founded the Voice of the Wetlands nonprofit to raise awareness of Louisiana's coastal erosion and launched his own label, Whiskey Bayou Records.

Beaumont, Texas, native Jesse Dayton blends Texas blues, outlaw country and punk rock. He has collaborated with Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson, and his album The Hard Way Blues, produced by Shooter Jennings, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Blues Albums chart. He also earned a Grammy nomination for Death Wish Blues, his collaboration with Samantha Fish.
