The Murder That Never Happened is an unreleased psychological thriller documentary from Catherine Legge, the filmmaker behind The Unsolved Murder of Beverly Lynn Smith and Met While Incarcerated/From Prison with Love.

The story begins in 1993, at the height of America's crime wave, when the accidental death of a child sends a Louisiana town into moral panic. Witness by witness, prosecutors transform an innocent man into a monster — and a community sentences him to death for a crime that never occurred. Thirty years later, witnesses return to court to unbury the truth, setting up a courtroom drama with life-or-death stakes still unresolved.

Following the screening, director Catherine Legge will be joined by local legal experts for a panel discussion and Q&A.
