EXHIBITION: Back Home Down South

June 14 — July 14, 2026

Overview

Back Home Down South brings together two Mississippi artists — Chris Meshel and Brejenn Allen — in a compelling conversation about place, identity, and the ways home continues to shape us long after we've left or long after we've stayed.

Meshel, a Mississippi-born artist now based between Barcelona and his home state, and Allen, a Mississippi-based artist whose work is rooted in the everyday life of the South, approach shared territory from different vantage points. The result is work that feels both personal and universal — paintings and mixed media pieces that move through Southern landscapes, family histories, and inherited traditions to ask what it really means to return.

The exhibition opens with a free public reception on June 14 and remains on view through July 14.
