Overview
A community block party will bring Jackson residents together to highlight what the high cost of healthcare is costing families.
The event will be hosted by Emmy-award winning comedian Rita Brent and offer free health screenings, food, prizes, live music by Jackson’s very own 601 Band, and opportunities for community members to share how they have been affected by high health costs.
The event is organized by the Mississippi Health Advocacy Program, NAACP MS State Conference, MS Black Women’s Roundtable, MS Urban League, and Six Dimensions and is part of One Nation Overcharged, a national grassroots movement demanding a healthcare system that puts people over profit.
