Overview
At noon on Wednesday, May 20, Jeff Giambrone, historian at the Mississippi Department of Archives and History, will discuss Civil War firearms and artillery used by both Union and Confederate soldiers as part of the History Is Lunch series. Giambrone will share firsthand accounts from soldiers on both sides during the siege of Vicksburg. In collaboration with the Two Mississippi Museums curatorial services team, the presentation will feature original artifacts of Civil War weapons from the collections. This free event will take place in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium of the Two Mississippi Museums and will stream live on the MDAH Facebook page and YouTube channel.
