Hal's St Paddy's Parade & Festival

March 28, 2026 @ 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Overview

Central Mississippi's annual "green Mardi Gras" celebrates spring, community spirit, and the rebirth of Mississippi's capital city. Born in Downtown Jackson in 1983, this beloved tradition honors founder Hal White—a self-taught chef, natural leader of the historic O'Tux Society, and beloved member of the community who gave more than he took. Starting at Cathead Distillery and ending at Hal & Mal's, the rambling, outrageous celebration benefits Children's of Mississippi and features iconic elements including the Sweet Potato Queens' sequined flair, the mysterious Buckethead judges, and the O'Tux Society's tuxedo-clad marchers. This lighthearted homecoming welcomes everyone as king and queen for a day.
