ChicagoSippian: Art with the Old, In with the New

October 24, 2026 @ 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Overview

CHICAGOSIPPIAN: Mississippi Made. Chicago Amplified. is a free community arts and culture experience at Briarwood Arts Center celebrating the deep cultural connection between Mississippi and Chicago.

As the final 2026 installment of Art With the Old, In With the New, CHICAGOSIPPIAN explores what traveled, what transformed, and what still connects us through visual art, live music, fashion, Chicago-style stepping, food, storytelling, migration, and Black creative culture. Guests can shop original work from Mississippi artists, experience live performances and interactive cultural moments, and connect with creatives while supporting Jackson’s growing arts community.

The event also highlights the market’s mission of helping artists sell existing work to generate resources for what they create next, while making original art more accessible to new and first-time collectors.

What traveled. What transformed. What connects us.
