Zoe's Restaurant

5350 N State St
Jackson, Mississippi 39206

Lorenzo “Zoe” Boston grew up in the restaurant business in Florida. “My family has had restaurants as long as I can remember, and I was always involved somehow.”

He had a lifetime dream of opening his own place, but first, he had to save up some money. And that is how he ended up in Jackson. “I got a job at a call center. I worked there until I got enough money to open my own restaurant.”

Zoe found the perfect spot to open his first restaurant on North State Street. He was able to purchase the building, then settled on serving various dishes, from pasta to seafood to steaks and more. Zoe’s Restaurant opened three and a half years ago and was a hit right off the bat. “We have gotten great community support,” says Zoe.

Zoe’s originally featured dine-in service, but the pandemic forced the restaurant to focus on their takeout service. “We did curbside pickup for a while, and we even tried delivery,” says Zoe. “We are hoping to open the inside soon, but for now, our takeout business is booming.”

The most popular dish on the menu, according to Zoe, is the Cajun pasta. “I have my own Cajun-Creole sauce that people can’t get enough of.” The pasta comes with your choice of meat: shrimp, chicken or steak. All menu items are made with fresh ingredients and made to order.

There is a little something for everyone, with a host of salads, sandwiches, rice dishes, pasta, ribeyes and seafood, including lobster tail.

“We are looking to open other locations in the Jackson area, starting with one in the Metrocenter mall,” says Zoe. “We are currently scouting locations. Hopefully, we can find some spots that are restaurant-ready, possibly in some spaces where restaurants closed due to Covid.”

Zoe says that Jackson is a great place to do business. “This is a great restaurant town. People love good food, and they love to go out and eat. We strive to make delicious food that is easy to pick up and take out.”

The business also provides catering services for events. “Our next step is to get a food truck that we can take to events.”
