Authentic Thai: Thai Time and Sushi Restaurant

Located on Old Square Road in Jackson off I-55 North, Thai Time Thai and Sushi Restaurant (formerly Thai House) has become a local favorite for anyone craving Thai food, fried rice, sushi, curry and everything in between.

Start with fried calamari, fried wontons, vegetable spring rolls, gyoza or boom boom shrimp – crispy shrimp tossed in a creamy sweet chili sauce and green onions.

If you’re in the mood for a salad before your meal, Thai Time has plenty to choose from. Thai salad options range from chicken larb to Nam-sod pork, beef salad, papaya salad, chicken wrap, and grilled chicken salad. Other salads include crab cucumber, seaweed salad and squid salad. Along with salads are soups that include Tom Yum soup, Tom Kah soup or a traditional coconut milk soup, wonton soup or egg drop soup.

Tom Yum Soup

Don’t fill up on appetizers and soup, though: save room for a delicious main course. If you love fried rice, Thai Time has several flavor options to choose from like spicy fried rice, Thai fried rice, pineapple fried rice, crab fried rice and Thai Time fried rice, which is authentic Prik Pao fried rice with basil, onions, tomato, bell peppers, egg and choice of meat (chicken, pork, tofu, vegetable, beef, shrimp or combination).

Thai Time also offers delicious curry. Choose from pineapple curry, red curry, green curry, yellow curry, Panang curry or Massaman curry. Each curry dish has an option of chicken, pork, tofu, beef, shrimp or vegetable and is served with jasmine rice.

For the noodle lovers, try Pad Tai noodles, Pad See Yu, Pan WoonSen, drunk man’s noodles, lo mein, Larn Na, Pho or Curry Noodle, all with choice of meat or tofu.

Stir-fried entrees offer your choice of chicken, pork, tofu, beef, shrimp or vegetable, seasoned with black pepper, broccoli, cabbage, cashew, garlic, ginger, Kra Prow, Prik Khing, spicy basil leaves, tangy pineapple or veggie delight. Other special entrees include orange chicken, grilled chicken teriyaki, sweet and sour shrimp, Thai bbq pork and other classic dishes.

Thai Time also boasts a large sushi menu with classic rolls, fried rolls, or sashimi. Classic rolls include California, spicy tuna, super crunch, eel and tempura rolls, and special rolls include volcano rolls, tiger rolls, spider roll, red dragon roll and Thai Time’s roll – tempura shrimp, crab stick, and cream cheese topped with avocado, spicy mayo, eel sauce, baked crab salad and sesame seeds.

Fried sushi rolls include fun options like the Alabama roll, mudbugs roll, lion roll, lucky roll, hurricane roll, and the Mississippi roll, which includes smoked salmon, cream cheese, jalapeno, cucumber and avocado. The roll is then fried and topped with spicy mayo, eel sauce and sesame seeds.

For the table to share, opt for sushi combination platters including Alabama, doggy and buddy rolls, or you can go bigger and choose the boat combo – spicy tuna, Jackson, four season, Mississippi or six pieces of Nigari.

With Thai Time’s delicious and extensive menu, no one will leave hungry, but you will leave with intentions to come back for more. Thai Time has something for everyone, even the kids, and some of the most delicious Thai food in the area.
