Basil's - Downtown

Basil’s Downtown is the perfect place to grab a soup, salad, sandwich and more in walking distance from every office in downtown. (If you’re up north, check out Basil’s Fondren location.)

Centrally located on the beautiful bricked block of Congress Street adjacent Smith Park, the eatery offers daily lunch specials via its Facebook page. Watch for seasonal changes, but typical lunch specials include Reubens, pulled pork, 5-cheese grilled cheese, crab cakes, shrimp and grits, tuna tabouli, shrimp marinara, spaghetti, 5-cheese meatloaf, Caesar salads (your choice of salmon, shrimp or crab cakes), fish tacos, shrimp toast, and salmon cakes.

The huge menu boasts an impressive array of paninis (turkey, pimiento cheese, grilled chicken), sandwiches (roast beef, Italian, ham), salads (garden, Caesar, pasta), and sides including deviled eggs and tomato basil soup.

You can also buy pimiento cheese in two oz., eight oz. 16 oz. or 32 oz. containers to enjoy at home.

Basil's Downtown is also available to cater your next office event (Catering by Debbie: 601-937-0630 or 601-291-4333). The extensive catering menu includes breakfast, lunch and dinner options, sweet (banana pudding, bread pudding, chess squares, brownies, cookies, Mandarin orange cake, cheesecake, or assorted pies) and savory including soups, sandwiches, pastries, dips, salads, entrees and veggies.

Basil’s Downtown is open Monday - Friday, 10:30 am -2 pm for dine in, carry out and delivery.
