No Monday Blues: Six Favorite Happy Hour Spots

Looking for a post-work pick-me-up?

Luckily, Jackson has plenty of local watering holes to take the edge off of the day. Here are six of our favorite local spots for happy hour.

Library Lounge

Put on your writer’s cap and head to the Historic Fairview Inn in Belhaven, where the Library Lounge is tucked into the hotel’s charming lobby. Snag a spot on the outdoor patio under the centuries-old magnolia tree for Happy Hour on Monday through Friday from 4 - 6 pm, which includes $1 off beer, $2 off house wines, $2 off Author-inspired Cocktails, and $5 well drinks. We especially love the Eudora Welty, a homage to the neighborhood’s literary legend - a mixture of Cathead Vodka, Cucumber, Dr. Brown’s Cel-Ray Soda, and Domaine de Canton Ginger Liqueur.

The Bean

Located in the heart of Fondren, The Bean serves as both a community coffee shop and a neighborhood destination for brunch, lunch, small bites, and crafted drinks. Every day from 4-6 pm, sit back and imbibe $5 house wines, drafts, and classic cocktails, as well as regional bottled craft beers. If you happen to stop in on a Thursday evening, stick around for Trivia Night located on their charming patio in warmer months.

Johnny T's Bistro & Blues

Johnny T’s Bistro and Blues

For those with Southern-inspired indulgence in mind, travel to the historic Farish Street District and feast your senses on Johnny T’s internationally and seasonally-inspired menu. Chef Bryan doesn’t stray from bold flavors, with small plates and crafted cocktails discounted during Happy Hour throughout the week. Stick around and keep the party going into the evening with weekly Mississippi blues concerts lasting until the wee hours of the morning.

Estelle Wine Bar & Bistro

Conveniently located to patrons in Downtown Jackson, Estelle Wine Bar & Bistro is an award-winning restaurant located at The Westin Jackson. With French-trained Chef Fabien at the helm, Estelle serves up Southern-inspired small bites and crafted cocktails every night from 3 - 6 pm for guests and locals alike. Enjoy the art-filled space and sip on drinks like The Lucille - Remy Martin, Peach Schnapps, and Cointreau with Peach and Brown Sugar Simple Syrup, named after Blues great B.B. King’s famous guitar - before catching a show at Thalia Mara Hall.

Elvie’s & Good Bar

James Beard-nominated Elvie’s is a hotspot for happy hour all week long, with its sister spot - Good Bar - located next door at the Belhaven Terrace to keep the good times rolling. Known for their natural wines on tap, be on the lookout for each location’s rotating small bites and cocktail selections changed seasonally. And for those looking for a happy hour without the hangover, check out their list of Low/No ABV Drinks.
