Fondren Fitness

Locally owned and operated, one of the unique aspects of Fondren Fitness is its commitment to supporting its Jackson community and fellow Fondrenites.

An exciting new addition to their gym is The Studios at Fondren, a 9,000 square foot space that offers over forty classes per week, including Kickboxing, HIIT, Yoga, Barre, and Spin. The best part? Members and nonmembers alike can sign up for a session on-the-go in their integrated app.

After your sweat sesh, be sure to hit up the HydroMassage lounger or grab a protein and nutrient-rich take-home meal from the local Fit Chef.

Mama Natures

Conveniently located next to Fondren Fitness (gym members get 10% off!), Mama Natures is a female and Black-owned business specializing in locally-sourced, plant-based ingredients.

While mixing up smoothies, bowls, handhelds, overnight oats, and superfood elixirs that pack a punch, one of their main goals is to inform customers about wellness and the importance of quality ingredients in their diet.

Be sure to try the "Chocolatte" smoothie for a healthier sweet tooth fix, made with organic cacao and Jackson-based Mississippi Cold Drip cold brew.

JXN Run Club

Created in 2019, JXN Run Club is taking strides to bring together runners from all over the Jackson metro area. With a motto of "Every Pace is Legal," new runners and seasoned ones are guaranteed to have a great time and build relationships while exploring the streets of Jackson.

The club has a standard meetup time of 2 pm on Sundays (usually at The District at Eastover but the location does change, so check their Instagram). Look forward to themed routes like "Coffee Run," where runners can pound the pavement before grabbing caffeine together at a local coffee joint.

Strollers are welcome, and did we mention we the best part? It's completely free to join.

Museum Trail

Borne of community collaboration, The Museum Trail is an approximately 3-mile, multi-use trail that connects the Two Mississippi Museums to the Mississippi Children's Museum, with additional access to three parks and six museums along the way. From walkers to rollerbladers and everyone in between, the trail encourages local explorers to get outside and enjoy the fresh air and scenery in the heart of the city.

Recent investments to the trail include new paint, signage, and local beautification efforts. The route is also in the beginnings of introducing public art that blends natural and painted beauty, including the colorful "Untamed Adaption" by local artist Azha Graham under the Fortification St. bridge.

Whether you're taking your bike, the kids, or the dog (or all three), the Museum Trail is the perfect setting to get fit and have fun doing it.

Float post-workout pain and stress away at Jackson's premier flotation therapy and wellness center. Frequented by athletes for its therapeutic properties, users lay back in a shallow float tank that's heated to their body temperature and filled with pharmaceutical-grade Epsom salt, leaving you with deep relaxation for your mind and body.

Not only does Jax-Zen offer one-of-a-kind floatation services, but they also specialize in therapeutic spa massages, Reiki energy work, sound therapy, and creative wellness. Because recovery is just as important as pushing hard in the gym.
