Visit Jackson Named 'Business of the Year' by Greater Jackson Chamber

Visit Jackson was named Business of the Year at the Greater Jackson Chamber annual meeting earlier this month at the Jackson Convention Complex.
Jeff Good, the 2021 Chairman of the Board, presented the award to Dr. Rickey Thigpen, President & CEO of Visit Jackson.
Visit Jackson received this honor based upon its immeasurable pursuit and unwavering dedication to realizing tourism despite the pandemic. While tourism was down 48-percent across the country in 2020, the Capital City only saw a 17% drop, helping many small businesses stay afloat during very challenging times by supporting visitors to the area.
Business of the Year was named among other honors including the Ambassador of the Year Award, the Pat Yarbrough Award, Lifetime Achievement Award and Excellence in Diversity Award.
The luncheon, rescheduled due to COVID-19, reflected on the challenges and achievements in 2021.
