Thigpen, Visit Jackson's President & CEO, Joins Miles Partnership's Global Stewardship Innovation Lab

Dr. Rickey Thigpen, President & CEO of Visit Jackson, has been selected to participate in the Global Stewardship Innovation Lab, a prestigious initiative focused on developing innovative solutions for the travel and tourism industry.

This year, the lab will focus on reaching a consensus on a shared definition of destination stewardship and other important terms, as well as destination stewardship framework and a journey map for DMOs, building existing standards and thought leadership.

The lab will be held at the Garland Hotel in Los Angeles, California, December 6-8, 2023.

Dr. Thigpen joins a select group of tourism leaders from around the world who will work together to develop these shared definitions for consistent standards throughout the DMO world.

“I am honored to be chosen to participate in the Global Stewardship Innovation Lab,” said Dr. Thigpen. “At Visit Jackson, we are committed to ensuring that tourism growth benefits all of our stakeholders, and I'm confident that the we've established the framework to achieve this goal.”

The Global Stewardship Innovation Lab, powered by Miles Partnership, seeks to recognize and build upon the great work already being done by individual thought leaders, groups and organizations - many of whom attended the lab - by providing a platform for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and the development of a universally agreed-upon framework.
