The 2022 winners of the second annual Emerging Tourism Stars have been announced by Connect Travel. Visit Jackson’s Creative Design Manager, Reshonda “Shon” Perryman, was named among the impressive list of winners from around the country.

“It is an honor to be selected,” said Perryman. “Especially to be named in the company of such great marketing professionals and amazing destinations and to be able to represent my city and state, utilizing my gifts and doing a job I absolutely love.”

Perryman and eight additional winners will be recognized at Connect Travel’s 23rd annual eToursim Summit, June 6-8 in Orlando, Florida. The eTourism Summit is the premier U.S. gathering of destination digital marketers in travel and their partner agencies.

"The position of our brand, City With Soul, would not be as strong without the creative energy and passion of Reshonda Perryman. I'm thrilled that she is being recognized as a leader in our industry, because that's exactly what we see from her every day at Visit Jackson," said Jonathan Pettus, VP of Marketing.

Perryman is noted for her “JXN Icons” mural, unveiled in 2020, featuring Eudora Welty, Medgar Evers, Thalia Mara and David Banner, on permanent display across from the Museum of Mississippi History and the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum.
