Shuttle Offered for SWAC Championship Game

Visit Jackson and Tim Bennett (Hank Aaron Sports Academy) are partnering to provide shuttle service to the 2021 Cricket Wireless SWAC Football Championship game presented by Pepsi Zero Sugar on Saturday at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 3:00 p.m.

The shuttle service will be offered from Smith-Wills Stadium at 1200 Lakeland Drive, from 10:30 am – 8:30 pm. Masks are required to ride the shuttle. It’s $20 per vehicle to access the roundtrip shuttle service. NO CASH will be accepted. Venmo, Cashapp, PayPal or a debit/credit card is needed to purchase parking.

Fans will be taken to the Farmer’s Market on West Street across from Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium. This will also be the pick up point for fans returning to their vehicles. Fans can identify the return area by signage provided. Security will be provided at Smith-Wills Stadium.

“We realize the importance of the experience,” said Dr. Rickey Thigpen, President & CEO of Visit Jackson. “Tim and I are partnering to improve upon the shuttle service that was offered for the Alcorn game. We’ve added DJ 5150 from Noon – 3 pm and food will be available for purchase inside Smith-Wills Stadium. It will be a micro-tailgating experience, mitigate some of the traffic congestion and provide some relief to the commercial and residential spaces in the stadium corridor.”

Fans are encouraged to take advantage of this service to prevent illegal parking in the surrounding neighborhood communities. Please note that food and beverages will not be permitted on the shuttles.Both entities are working closely with the Jackson Police Department, the Mississippi Highway Patrol, and the Mississippi Department of Transportation to safeguard the route for this service.

Despite best planning efforts, traffic is unavoidable, but fans can reduce some stress by leaving home early and utilizing this service.
