Maison Weiss Welcomes New Ownership
February 12, 2026
Maison Weiss, the Highland Village boutique that's defined elevated shopping in Jackson for fifty years, welcomed new ownership this winter as sisters Liz Spratlin and Claire Porter took over from the Szilasi family.
Continuing a Five-Decade Legacy
The store has anchored women's fashion in Jackson since 1975, building a reputation for curated selections that go beyond what's available elsewhere in Mississippi. Under the Szilasi family's forty-year stewardship, Maison Weiss expanded its influence, eventually opening MW Squared in Oxford's downtown while maintaining its flagship presence in Highland Village.
New Leadership, Deep Roots
Spratlin brings fifteen years of Jackson retail experience from operating Blithe & Vine, understanding both the market and the community connections that sustain independent boutiques. Porter's background in law and state-level administration adds business acumen to the partnership. Both sisters grew up on the Gulf Coast before establishing themselves in Mississippi's retail and professional landscapes.
