Delicious Gesture Rewards Healthcare Workers

The best way to a health worker’s heart is through their stomach.

Isn’t that the saying?

It should be.

For front line heroes who go about the business of saving lives every day, a meal is the simplest way to say ‘thanks.’

That’s the notion behind “Good Food in Gratitude,” a campaign began locally by ad agency MWB to pair doctors, nurses, and others in the medical field with a delivery from a Jackson restaurant.

Team members at Visit Jackson are choosing neighbors, friends, or their healthcare heroes to recognize this month.

“Visit Jackson is honored to have the opportunity to support the brave men and women who are on the front-line supporting us 365 days a year,” said Visit Jackson President & CEO Rickey Thigpen. “They are the soul of Jackson; we thank them by providing soulful meals to uplift them as they provide selfless service to us.”

The campaign hopes to extend beyond a single organization’s efforts. Like MWB before who took on the task in week one, Visit Jackson asks other companies to adopt the idea and keep it moving.

“We want to see this blossom and become a citywide effort,” said Visit Jackson Vice President of Marketing Jonathan Pettus. “We can’t think of a single better way to honor our restaurant partners and those who are putting their lives on the line than with such a simple gesture.”
