The City With Soul is celebrating the second annual 601JXN Day—in this case, a weekend—June 1 – 2, 2024. The event is a collective celebration of the capital city, your city, 'MY CITY,' JXN, MS; North, South, East, and West.

The celebration will kick off with the first event, the JXN Run Club 601 JXN Day Run at the Museum Trail (Spengler at Madison), on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 9 am.

"601 JXN Day is a result of teamwork and collaboration," said Kim Lewis, Tourism and Destination Development Manager for Visit Jackson. It's a collective celebration of our capital city—your city, my city. We hope that this brand will continue to grow each year, along with our community pride."

The weekend will be celebrated with new events, existing events, special promotions, and specially curated engagement opportunities. Everyone is encouraged to use #601JXNDAY for social media posts.

"It's an honor for Briarwood Arts Center (BAC) to be a part of this event, especially considering how new we are," said Stephen Brown, the artist known as 5th Child and BAC Director. "We will participate with an event called YAHT Club, which stands for You Ain't Heard This. This is an immersive, social experience where listeners take a deep dive into the lesser-known and undiscovered artists of today while sipping wine and cocktails and nibbling on fruit and charcuterie."

601JXN Day was created through partnerships and collaboration to connect the people who live, work and play in the City With Soul. It's celebrated over a weekend and incorporates new and existing events, special promotions, and specially curated activations to celebrate the city, its rich collection of culture and its people, and evoke community pride.

Event organizers include Visit Jackson, Briarwood Arts Center, Hal & Mal’s, Jxn Run Club, Magnolia Sunset Market, Offbeat, and On Gawd Ju Skate Jam. Organizers will share activations planned throughout the weekend.
