The LeFleur's Bluff Conservancy is transforming 104 acres of LeFleur's Bluff State Park into a dynamic, multi-use urban park, a destination for outdoor recreation, public art, and community life, right in the heart of the city.
This landmark project will include:
- A golf park designed by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr. in collaboration with Nathan Crace
- A world-champion Avery Jenkins–designed disc golf course
- Pickleball courts and expanded trail systems
- Upgraded North Jackson Youth Baseball facilities
- Family-friendly play areas and public art installations
- Expanded and improved access to the Pearl River
- An elevated pedestrian and cyclist bridge connecting the four museums of the LeFleur Museum District (federal funding secured; groundbreaking estimated 2026)
The Conservancy builds on more than $10 million already invested in the area, which brought the Spotter's Adventure Trail, LeFleur's Bluff Playground, and a new joint entrance for the Mississippi Children's Museum and the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science. With the establishment of the LeFleur's Bluff Conservancy — led by the Great City Mississippi Foundation and the Mississippi Children's Museum — this next phase represents a once-in-a-generation investment in Jackson's most important cultural and recreational campus.
A Public-Private Partnership for Jackson
Governor Tate Reeves signed legislation appropriating $13 million to the newly created LeFleur's Bluff Conservancy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established to oversee the long-term stewardship and development of the park. The Conservancy has entered into a formal lease agreement with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks, with governance representation from the LeFleur Museum District and officials appointed by state government. Private philanthropy and community investment will play an essential role in fully realizing the Conservancy's vision.
LeFleur's Bluff has always been part of Jackson's identity. This is its next chapter — and it's being written for everyone.
