A grant/funding program is offered through Visit Jackson to enhance visitor and tourism promotion efforts for events held in the city of Jackson through various types of assistance. Events must demonstrate the ability to generate a major positive economic impact.
CONVENTION & MEETING SUPPORT PROGRAM
This program is designed to enhance meetings, conferences/conventions, tradeshows, equine events or sporting events. Qualified applicants must clearly demonstrate the capability to generate a positive economic impact by attracting verifiable delegates or attendees from outside the Jackson area to stay overnight in Jackson hotels and patronize Jackson restaurants. Funding will be disbursed at the conclusion of the event and a review of final report documents which may include room nights, facility rental and meal function receipts, and other information detailing compliance with the Convention and Meeting Support Guidelines and conditions of the specific award. Applicants must use Jackson venues and hotels to be eligible to receive Visit Jackson funding.
MARKETING GRANT PROGRAM
Marketing Match Grants are available for individuals/organizations/attractions/groups who promote inbound tourism through public events. Qualified applicants must clearly demonstrate the ability to generate a major positive economic impact by attracting verifiable spectators or participants from outside the Jackson area to stay overnight in hotels and/or patronize Jackson restaurants. Applicants may apply for funding up to 50% of total qualified advertising expenses. Funds will be disbursed at the conclusion of the project upon receipt of the final report detailing compliance with the Marketing Match Grant guidelines and conditions of the specific award.
If you are not already receiving funding through this program, but would like to apply for the upcoming grant period, please complete a Letter of Intent and return it to our office by May 30, 2017. After this information is received, you will be contacted to set up a meeting to discuss your project and review the requirements to receive funding and assistance with completing the application and final report.
