Overview
Singer-songwriter Lilly Hiatt’s new album Forever is a raw, guitar-driven exploration of growth, anxiety, love, and learning to be present in your own life. Written and recorded with her husband, producer Coley Hinson, at their home outside Nashville, the record blends alt-rock grit with intimate singer-songwriter storytelling. Hiatt describes the album as “a hand to hold,” inviting listeners into deeply personal reflections that resonate with anyone navigating change, self-doubt, and connection.
Born in Los Angeles and raised in Tennessee, Hiatt earned critical acclaim with earlier releases including Trinity Lane (praised by NPR, Rolling Stone, and The Independent), Walking Proof, and Lately. After the pandemic stalled touring, Hiatt found herself overwhelmed by personal and professional changes, retreating inward as she struggled with anxiety and self-criticism despite achieving milestones she once dreamed of.
Seeking clarity, she left the city for a quieter life and started fresh creatively. Working song by song with Hinson and mixer Paul Kolderie (Radiohead, Pixies), Hiatt crafted Forever as an honest reflection of learning to slow down, show up, and embrace love and everyday life. Songs range from the electrifying opener “Hidden Day” to the tender title track celebrating commitment and presence.
Forever ultimately captures the realization that, when you learn to live in the moment, reality can be more beautiful than any escape.
