Overview

Dr. Diana Bratton seems to attract murder.

When the husband of a partner in her busy surgical practice is shot, Dr. Bratton is thrust into a political battle of money versus medical ethics with international financial reach. Diana’s own life is threatened not once but twice at gunpoint when the uncle of the assailant is accused of murdering his sister, the attacker’s mother.

While dealing with difficult patients, Diana’s personal life is entwined with raising a cheerleader teenage daughter and dealing with a treasured aunt addicted to plastic surgery. With the support of her physician husband still bruised by the murder of his twin brother, Diana is once again drawn into a homicide investigation by the local police department. Diana must protect herself and her own family while she discovers if the victim was shot from a rooftop over secret investment accounts or over retribution from physical and emotional abuse.

ROOFTOP is the third suspense thriller in the Diana Bratton trilogy, following WIGGLE ROOM and THE FIVE MANNERS OF DEATH.

Darden North’s mystery and thriller novels have been awarded nationally, most notably an IPPY in Southern Fiction for Points of Origin and Party Favors. He has been Chairman of the Board of the Mississippi Public Broadcasting Foundation and a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of the Mississippi State Medical Association. A native of the Mississippi Delta, he and his wife, Sally, currently enjoy their family, traveling, and other outdoor activities.
