April 23, 2026 @ 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Overview

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is a Pulitzer Prize winning play by Tennessee Williams that centers on a wealthy Southern family confronting tension, secrets, and unspoken truths during a gathering at their Mississippi plantation. The story follows Brick and Maggie as they navigate marriage, inheritance, and identity while family conflicts expose themes of desire, honesty, and repression.

In partnership with the Mississippi Film Society, the Mississippi Museum of Art’s film series Capital Pictures returns with a celebration of the film adaptations of Mississippi dramatist, Tennessee Williams. Capital Pictures: Beguiled will explore William’s signature themes of sexuality, desire, and the weight of the past.
