Event Submission Guidelines

Our Calendar of Events

Our calendar keeps visitors and locals informed about everything Jackson — the "City With Soul" — has to offer. It exclusively features events within the city limits and is designed to promote tourism and engagement from local residents, support our hospitality partners, and aid in trip planning.

What We List

Eligible events are sponsored, supported, or hosted by Visit Jackson community partners and celebrate Jackson's hospitality, history, culture, cuisine, sports, concerts, theater, museums, or festivals.

Not eligible: real estate open houses, small group meetings, happy hours, sales, or events deemed inappropriate by Visit Jackson. All listed events must be open to the public — free or ticketed.

Before You Submit

  • Check the calendar first to avoid duplicate listings.
  • Make sure dates, times, and locations are finalized. If anything changes after submission, email us and we'll update the listing.
  • Submit at least two weeks in advance to allow adequate public notice.

Submission Guidelines

Descriptions: Write in sentence form. Do not use all caps. Focus only on the event itself — do not include dates, times, costs, or phone numbers in the description; those have their own fields.

Photos:

  • Landscape orientation preferred, 3:2 ratio, minimum 1280 wide × 853 tall pixels, under 1MB
  • No flyers or logos on photos, please. We prefer you not send the poster but use a photo representative of or from previous events you have hosted.
  • By submitting, you confirm you hold the rights and permit Visit Jackson to use the image for promotional purposes.

Approval

Submissions are reviewed within 3-5 business days and are not guaranteed to be listed. Visit Jackson reserves the right to accept, decline, or edit any submission and is not responsible for errors in submitted content.
