Steve's Downtown Deli & Bakery

Steve’s Downtown Deli & Bakery, a downtown Jackson staple for over two decades, is now under the ownership of Michael Longo and Ashley Davis, who took the helm in 2025. Longtime kitchen veteran Fred Grayer continues to anchor the culinary team, ensuring continuity in the deli’s beloved offerings.

The menu features a variety of scratch-made lunch specials, including the Capitol Club sandwich, Mediterranean wrap, and daily plate lunches like chicken spaghetti and lasagna. Salad options such as the Downtown Chicken Salad and the Carburetor Salad cater to diverse tastes. Dessert selections include house-baked cookies and bread pudding with praline sauce.

Steve’s offers dine-in, takeout, delivery, and catering services, along with “heat and eat” evening meals for added convenience.

In May 2025, Steve’s expanded its offerings to include breakfast service, available Monday through Friday starting at 7:30 a.m. The breakfast menu features items like the lox and cream cheese croissant, breakfast burrito, scrambler bowl, and breakfast casserole. Sides include grits, breakfast potatoes, and fresh fruit cups, complemented by coffee and other beverages.

Located at 125 S. Congress Street, Steve’s Downtown Deli & Bakery continues to serve the Jackson community with its diverse menu and welcoming atmosphere.
