Jackson Municipal Art Gallery

The Municipal Art Gallery strives to both promote and encourage contemporary artists and to create a place where everyone can enjoy American and Mississippi art for what it is: a true reflection of our people and our lifestyles. The building was originally built in the late 1860s as a stately private home. Today, the Jackson Municipal Art Gallery stands as one of the oldest surviving historic structures in Jackson. Attracting thousands of visitors each year with its changing exhibits, the gallery has become a focal point for hundreds of local artists.
