Guide to Run the Rainbow for Childrens Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k and 5k

Run the Rainbow takes place on the third Saturday in March in Jackson, combining St. Patrick's Day celebration with fundraising for Children's of Mississippi—the state's only children's hospital. The race starts and finishes at Hal & Mal's in downtown Jackson.

Race Distance Options

Run the Rainbow offers four distances to accommodate different skill levels. The 5K route begins and ends at Hal & Mal's. The 10K, half marathon, and full marathon routes wind through downtown Jackson, Belhaven, Eastover, and the University of Mississippi Medical Center campus, where runners will see the Kathy and Joe Sanderson Tower at Children's of Mississippi.

What's Included in Registration

Your registration fee includes a race t-shirt, finisher medal, admission to the St. Patrick's Day after-party at Hal & Mal's with live music, and a drink ticket. All event proceeds benefit Children's of Mississippi, which provides state-of-the-art care to children throughout Mississippi.

Post-Race Celebration

After crossing the finish line, head to the St. Patrick's Day after-party at Hal & Mal's. Live music, festive atmosphere, and your included drink ticket await. This is where the running community comes together to celebrate both personal achievement and support for Children's of Mississippi.

Supporting Children's of Mississippi

Every registration fee and sponsorship dollar goes directly to Children's of Mississippi at UMMC. The hospital provides specialized pediatric care throughout the state, ensuring any child in need receives treatment regardless of their family's ability to pay. Run the Rainbow turns your race day into meaningful support for Mississippi's children.
