For generations, Parham Bridges Park has served as the beating heart of Jackson's recreational life. Now, thanks to the LeFleur East Foundation's ambitious $6.5 million redevelopment project, this beloved North Jackson destination is experiencing its most significant transformation in decades.

New Amenities Taking Shape

In less than a year, the LeFleur East Foundation has spent at least $200,000 on improvements at Parham Bridges Park, with dramatic results already visible across the 40-acre facility. The foundation has installed brand-new pickleball courts to meet growing demand for the popular sport, while simultaneously working on tennis court restoration.

"Brand new pickleball courts... We put in four more tennis courts back here, or resurfaced them... We put in this fence over here, and we're putting in this gate," explained Clay Hays, chair of the LeFleur East Board, according to WLBT.

Perhaps most exciting is the groundbreaking Park Golf Course - a free, three-hole, par 3 course with artificial turf located behind the Dr. Hugh G. Ward Playground. This innovative addition will make golf accessible to all Jackson residents.

Enhanced Security and Accessibility

The foundation is implementing comprehensive security improvements, including a wooden privacy fence and new gated entrance. "The only way people can come in is through the entrance here," Hays told WLBT, explaining how the changes will reduce unauthorized through-traffic while maintaining welcoming access for park visitors.

Community Investment Philosophy

For Hays and the LeFleur East Board, the investment reflects deep community commitment. "This is our home. You want to make your home nice," the cardiologist emphasized to WLBT. "This is about making Jackson a great place to live, work, and play... And if we don't do it, who is?"

Additional planned improvements include expanded walking trails, a pro shop, and enhanced parking facilities, ensuring Parham Bridges remains a premier destination for outdoor recreation and community connection.
