Dining: Who is Open On Sundays?

Even in a city the size of Jackson, it can seem hard to find a good place to eat or just hang out on Sunday.

But you don't have to sit at home with nothing to do! We have put together a short list of five places in the city that are open on Sundays.

Highball Lanes - 3019 North State Street

Highball Lanes is a great place for Sunday brunch. It has a menu stacked with six appetizers, including cheese fries and shrimp wontons. Six delicious sandwiches, like the prime rib po'boy, also are on the menu. Nearly a dozen entrees (fried shrimp and skirt steak tacos!) and half a dozen sides are available, including classics like cheese grits and fried Brussel sprouts. Oh, and they have a bowling alley!

You might also be surprised at the comfortable couches bowlers and diners can enjoy. Highball Lanes also has a bar with craft drinks and a selection of beers. If you are coming to play, you can make reservations online and schedule private events.

Trio JXN Eatery - 802 North State Street

Trio Eatery is another excellent choice for Sunday dining. They describe themselves as "casual contemporary dining, where we welcome our guests to an unforgettable experience."

They are a popular choice for their brunch menu, featuring specials like Red Velvet Waffles with deep-fried chicken tenders and fresh fruit paired with bottomless mimosas. Catfish or shrimp and grits, bourbon-glazed French toast, served with bacon or sausage and scrambled eggs, steak and eggs, or grilled chicken strawberry salad are also excellent choices.

Trio Eatery also has live entertainment and music, so check the schedule to see what lies in store for your visit.
