Mississippi Children's Museum Reopens World at Work Gallery with All-New Experiences
The Mississippi Children's Museum (MCM) has unveiled an exciting transformation of its World at Work gallery, featuring six brand-new interactive experiences that blend education with hands-on fun for young visitors.
Electric Vehicle Innovation Takes Center Stage
Thanks to longtime partner Nissan, children can now explore the future of transportation through the all-electric Nissan ARIYA. This immersive experience allows kids to sit in the driver's seat and discover how electric vehicles operate, sparking curiosity about automotive innovation.
"Nissan believes that investing in STEM education is investing in the future," said Victor Taylor, Vice President of Manufacturing, Nissan Canton Vehicle Assembly Plant. "By supporting MCM, we're helping young minds explore innovation, creativity, and the real-world applications of science and technology."
Interactive Technology and Creative Design
The gallery introduces "Nikki the Cobot," a collaborative robot from Nissan's Canton plant that challenges visitors to test their precision and speed. Meanwhile, the new Test Track Challenge invites young engineers to build vehicles and test them across six different tracks, considering factors like size, weight, and materials.
Fostering Creativity Through Design
The new Design Studio, supported by the Mississippi Arts Commission, offers interactive prompts that teach children to think like professional designers. From illustrating their best day to creating dinner menus, this space nurtures creative problem-solving skills while introducing the design process.
The updated gallery also features "Ideas in the Sky," a vibrant art installation by Meridian artist Cecelia Moseley, creating an immersive environment that encourages creative thinking.
