One of the best places for kids to cool down in Jackson this summer is the Splash Pad at the Mississippi Children’s Museum. Open through July 27 (weather permitting), this interactive water play area is the perfect way to beat the heat after exploring the museum. The splash pad is open Tuesday–Saturday from 10am–5pm, Sundays from 1pm–6pm, and also on Magic Mondays in June and July. (Note: it’s closed Memorial Day and the 4th of July.) In August, weekend hours continue through the end of the month. It’s a refreshing and fun way for kids to burn energy and stay cool. If you're purchasing tickets or using your membership to visit the museum, be sure to check out the outdoor exhibit on the ground floor. It features a fun playground with interactive water elements—perfect for a refreshing break during your visit.

The Art Garden at the Mississippi Museum of Art offers a vibrant splash pad where children can cool off while enjoying the surrounding art installations and native plant gardens.
