Guide to JXN Football Season 2023
With Jackson State University, Belhaven University, and Millsaps College kicking off action-packed schedules this fall, the football season in Jackson is anticipated to be one for the books.
Jackson State University
Led by new head coach T.C. Taylor, JSU aims to start and end the 2023 season in Atlanta. It all begins with the MEAC/SWAC Challenge Kickoff against South Carolina State on August 26, followed by exciting matchups, including the Denny's Orange Blossom Classic and games against Southern and Texas State. The Tigers will have a four-game home schedule and two road games before concluding the regular season with two home games. The Cricket SWAC Championship is on December 2, and the Cricket Celebration Bowl is on December 16 in Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Belhaven University
After an impressive 8-2 finish in their first year in the USA South, the Belhaven University Blazers aim to build on their best season in program history. The action begins with the Riverside Rumble against Millsaps on August 31 at The Bowl, followed by a non-conference game to take on a new face with Lyon College on September 9. USA South play kicks off on September 23 against Greensboro College, and the Blazers face opponents like Huntingdon, LaGrange, and Methodist in the following weeks. Mark your calendars for November 11 and Senior Day, the final regular-season game against Brevard College at Belhaven Bowl Stadium.

Millsaps College
The Majors football program is anticipating an action-packed 2023 fall calendar, beginning August 31 with the Riverside Rumble against Belhaven. On September 9, catch Millsap's home opener against McMurry University. Eight Southern Athletic Association matchups follow, beginning with Sewanee on September 16. On September 23, don't miss the face-off with Hendrix, followed by a battle against Birmingham-Southern in Alabama on September 30.
Mark your calendars for Homecoming on October 21 against Centre College and the final road game on October 28 at Trinity. Senior Day will conclude with new SAA football member Southwestern University on November 4, with recognition and festivities beginning before the 1 p.m. kickoff.
