Jackson's Halloween season runs from Thursday, October 22 through Halloween night on Saturday, October 31.
There are trick-or-treat events for little ones, a free night just for teens, and costume parties that go until midnight. Here's what's on, sorted by date.
The Week Before: October 22–24
Ghoulwill Bash - Thursday, Oct 22
The annual Ghoulwill Bash at Duling Hall is your chance to thrift a Halloween costume, then wear it to a party with music, dancing, food and adult beverages. Proceeds support Goodwill Mississippi's mission of transforming lives through lifelong learning and meaningful work. Tickets are $50 for one person or $75 for a couple, and you have to buy them before the event, at Duling Hall or online through Ticketmaster.
Park After Dark - Friday, Oct 23, 5:30 - 8:30 pm
The Mississippi Museum of Natural Science and the Mississippi Children's Museum team up for one evening of Halloween fun. Kids can make creepy crawly crafts and trick-or-treat through both museums. Come in costume.
Blocktoberfest - Saturday, Oct 24, 2:00 pm - midnight
Blocktoberfest at The Station Fondren has two parts. From 2 to 7 p.m., families can enjoy an art market, trick-or-treating, face painting and live music. From 7 p.m. to midnight, adults can enter the pumpkin carving and costume contests, dance to DJ Silas, and try locally brewed beer and specialty cocktails.

This free event on Brook Drive in Fondren has trick-or-treating, bounce houses, food trucks and more.
Friday Night Frights: October 30
HallowTEEN - Friday, Oct 30
This free night at the Mississippi Museum of Art is for high school students and is presented by the museum's Teen Council. Expect art making, games and spooky gallery tours. The costume contest starts at 7:30 p.m.
Spook Fest - Friday, Oct 30
Spook Fest is an annual Halloween music and arts festival at Patton House & Gallery that features musicians, poets, painters and other creatives from across Mississippi. This year includes an art exhibit, a live podcast recording, a costume contest, Halloween games and a concert by local artists. Food and drinks will be available. You must be 18 or older, so bring a valid driver's license.
It's a 2000's Halloween Party: Jackson - Friday, Oct 30
Pull out the Y2K outfits. This party at Duling Hall plays the biggest pop, hip-hop and rock hits of the 2000s and 2010s, from Britney Spears to Eminem.
Candlelight: Halloween Classics - Friday, Oct 30
The Candlelight concert series brings live, multi-sensory music to striking venues. This Halloween-themed concert is at the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium in Downtown Jackson.
Halloween Day and Night: Saturday, October 31
Boo!seum - Saturday, Oct 31, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Superheroes, princesses and silly monsters are all welcome at this daytime event at the Mississippi Children's Museum. There will be carnival games, creepy-crawly crafts and Halloween treats. Wear a costume.
JXN Fall Fest - Saturday, Oct 31
This family-friendly afternoon festival at Icehouse offers food, entertainment and Halloween fun for all ages.
Boo at the Jackson Zoo - Saturday, Oct 31
This evening fall festival at the Jackson Zoo is fun and not too scary. Expect candy stations, activities, a DJ, food trucks and more.
Late Night with Rita Brent - Saturday, Oct 31
Rita Brent's Emmy-winning show closes its season on Halloween night at the Jackson Convention Complex. Main show guests include Delta Sigma Theta International President Cheryl Turner, GRAMMY-winning singer-guitarist Kingfish, teacher and content creator Raven "Sunshine" Jones, and comedian Darren Fleet. The pre-show features host Kayla Thompson, Elsie of America's Got Talent, rapper Tricky Hudson, and comedians Merc B. Williams and Nardo Blackmon. Costumes are encouraged but not required, and the best costumes win cash prizes. Tickets are at jacksonhotevents.com.
HALNMALOWEEN - Saturday, Oct 31, 8:00 pm
Hal & Mal's turns the entire building into an Alice-in-Wonderland-style Halloween party. There's live music from Smokies, The Narrows and The Band Belhaven, plus DJ sets from DJ Young Venom and High Street. You can also try Skaraoke hosted by SG, get your costume painted by Twisted Oreo, and enter the $500 grand prize costume contest. All ages are welcome; anyone under 18 needs a legal guardian. Tickets are $15 early bird, $20 in advance and $30 day of show.
