Cathead Distillery's Spring Crawfish Boil Series

Down on Farish Street, Cathead Distillery is going all-in with a five-date Spring Crawfish Boil Series running Saturdays from February 28 through April 18. Each event runs noon to 9 p.m., with live music starting at 2 p.m. — and admission is free, with crawfish available pay-by-the-plate. The lineup is stacked with Mississippi talent: the Cary Hudson Band (Feb. 28), Eric Keaton Trio (March 7), Davis Coen Band (March 14), That Bad Band (April 4), and Joe Austin & The Tallahatchies (April 18). Co-Founder Richard Patrick calls crawfish season "one of our favorite times of year at Cathead," and with frozen Honeysuckle Lemonades in hand, it's easy to see why.

Fertile Ground Beer Co.

Grab a cold one and crack some shells at Fertile Ground Beer Co., hosting crawfish boils on March 7, March 21, and April 18 — complete with live music, good food, and cold beer.

The Block at Fondren Yard

Fondren is always a good idea, and on Saturday, February 28, The Block kicks off crawfish season at Fondren Yard starting at noon — serving fresh, seasoned crawfish hot until sold out. At $12 per pound (each pound comes with one piece of corn and two potatoes), you can keep it simple or customize: add corn or potatoes for $0.50 each, or throw in sausage for $1.50. The Block returns for two more boils on March 29 and April 11, so mark your calendar more than once.

CrawFest at the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science

The Mississippi Museum of Natural Science is bringing something truly one-of-a-kind to the crawfish calendar. On February 28, CrawFest takes over the museum for a day of food, music, science, and family fun. Sal & Phil's Seafood is serving a $25 flat plate (2 lbs of crawfish, corn, potato, and sausage), while Dr. Flava's Louisiana Kitchen brings Crawfish Fettuccine Pasta, Fried Louisiana Catfish, Smoked Boudin Burgers, and Smoked Gator Burgers. Live music comes from TB Ledford and the Accumulators, blending country blues, bluegrass, and jug band traditions. Explore crawfish science exhibits, play Crawfish Cornhole, and browse vendors including Mississippi Crawfish Co., KCrenshaw Art, MsT's Sweets and Treats, Wholly Fire Hotsauce, and Watts Hollow Workshop. The event is included with museum admission or MMNS Foundation Membership (food not included).
