Fenian's Pub is Coming Back to Jackson's Belhaven Neighborhood

After nearly three decades as Belhaven's go-to gathering spot, Fenian's Pub is gearing up for its highly anticipated return following its September 2024 closure.

Historic Irish Pub Returns to Fortification and Jefferson

The corner of Fortification and Jefferson is about to come alive again. After nearly three decades as Belhaven's go-to gathering spot, Fenian's Pub is gearing up for its highly anticipated return following its September 2024 closure.

Jackson real estate developer William Lake has big plans for the beloved Irish pub that go far beyond simply reopening the doors. His vision transforms the entire block into what he calls an "entertainment district," starting with tearing down the crumbling house next door.

New Outdoor Entertainment Space Coming to Belhaven

Picture this: a fenced greenspace with a live music stage, outdoor seating areas, walk-up bar service, and yes, even cornhole boards for those competitive spirits. The pub's famous deck will wrap around the building, connecting to the new outdoor space through stairs and a ramp, while a second bar serves the expanded patio area.

Classic Fenian's Interior Gets Modern Updates

Inside, Fenian's will keep its soul intact. The central bar stays put, though it's getting bigger, and the back room will open up with more TVs for sports fans. The downstairs kitchen remains, but with a focused menu of classic bar favorites.

"I want everyone to know that you're going to get a solid drink when you come see us," Lake told the Clarion Ledger. "We don't need a bunch of things; if you want a hamburger, get you a hamburger."

Fenian's Reopening Could Revitalize Jackson Neighborhood

Fenian's revival couldn't come at a better time. Lake expects to pour the first pints again by year's end, potentially sparking a broader renaissance for this corner of Jackson.
