Social media is a powerful tool for storytelling, event promotion, and celebrating our partners and the City With Soul. It's also a space where the boundaries of respectful dialogue can blur.

Visit Jackson and our associated brands — The City With Soul and My City JXN MS — are committed to keeping our platforms positive, uplifting, and focused on the work we do to shine a light on Jackson. If our content consistently generates a negative reaction for you, we kindly ask that you unfollow our pages rather than use them as an outlet for that frustration.

Our official policy is as follows:

Content Disclaimer. Visit Jackson monitors our social media profiles, but is not responsible for user-generated content. Comments and images posted by users do not necessarily reflect the views of Visit Jackson. Links to external websites do not constitute an endorsement.

Commitment to Inclusion. Visit Jackson is deeply committed to reflecting the diversity of thought, culture, and lifestyle that defines the Jackson community. We practice radical inclusion and believe that civil, equitable dialogue is central to what makes Jackson a great city and destination.

Designated Response Authority. Only authorized Visit Jackson staff and contracted representatives are permitted to officially respond to user-generated content on behalf of the organization, whether on platforms managed by Visit Jackson or on third-party sites such as Google, Yelp, TripAdvisor, or other review and social platforms. Our authorized social media contractor serves as the first point of contact for monitoring and responding to user-generated content, under the oversight of the Director of Destination Storytelling and, ultimately, the Chief Marketing Officer. Responses from any other individuals, including partners and stakeholders, do not represent the official position of Visit Jackson.

Prohibited Content. We do not permit profanity, obscenity, vulgarity, racism, homophobia, nudity, defamation, advertising, or political campaigning on our pages. Violations may result in content being hidden or removed, or a permanent ban from our pages.

Additional Restrictions. Comments intended to sell products, infringe on copyright, or spam our pages — including repetitive posts across the same or multiple posts — as well as content that is incendiary, inflammatory, or demonstrably false, are also subject to removal or a permanent ban.
