Thailicious Pad Thai and soup

Tucked away in the heart of Fondren is a small and unassuming Thai restaurant with quiet, comfortable furnishings and a large menu. This is Thailicious, open since 2020 in the heart of the pandemic.

It's easy to see why it has endured. Friendly wait staff will quickly serve your delicious, authentic meal. Takeout is also popular.

Among the many choices, try lunch specials like basil fried rice, pineapple fried rice; green, red, yellow, panang or massaman curry; pad thai, drunken noodles, or lo mein; stir fried broccoli, cabbage, eggplant, garlic, ginger or basil (your choice of meat, served with rice); or chef specials such as crunchy chicken, orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, grilled teriyaki chicken, or three flavors tamarind fish (each served with vegetables and rice).

For dinner, the menu is loaded with traditional Thai favorites. For appetizers, choose from among crab rangoon, spring rolls, edamame, boom boom shrimp, chicken satay, or gyoza; or the new “duck sample,” roast duck with barbecue sauce, carrots, broccoli, cucumbers and ginger.

Thailicious also has its own version of green papaya salad and chicken lettuce wraps. Soup choices include Tom Yum, Tom Kha, “Thailicious” (coconut milk with mushrooms, galangal, lemongrass, lime leaves, and cilantro), or wonton soup.

The dinner menu mirrors the lunch menu, with slightly larger portions. Choose from among beef, chicken, fish, tofu, or pork for most dishes: red, green, yellow curry; sweet and sour, grilled teriyaki, spicy basil, and more. There are also chef's specials for dinner, like Fish Supreme, Orange Chicken, Crunchy Shrimp (or Chicken), Thai BBQ Pork, or new BBQ Duck.

A new offering is a wide arrange of ramen: miso ramen (soybean paste in pork broth with corn, cabbage, fish cake and a soft boiled egg), shoyu ramen, tonkotsu ramen, or Thailicious ramen (creamy hot and sour in chicken broth with corn, cabbage, fish cake and soft boiled egg).

There's even a kids meu, with chicken fried rice, shrimp fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, teriyaki, and french fries.

For dessert, try the coconut ice cream, fried cheesecake, fried ice cream, sweet sticky rice with egg custard or a Thailicious donut.
