December 7

Alexandra Kay with Julia Cole at Duling Hall. Country music artist Alexandra Kay’s songs and collaborations have been viewed hundreds of millions of times on social media. With a voice reminiscent of Dolly Parton, Alison Kraus and Leanne Womack, AK is bringing country music back to its roots. GA tickets are $15.

Perpetual Groove (at Martin’s Downtown) creates a cultivated, unique experience for each live show, and this new chapter showcases the continuing evolution of their music, sound and storytelling performances. GA tickets are $10.

Cirque Dreams Holidaze at Thalia Mara Hall – Cirque Dreams Holidaze lights up the stage in this family holiday spectacular! The Central Mississippi Blues Society presents Blue Monday in the main dining room of Hal & Mal’s. Get there early and have a bite before the music starts at 7 PM. ($5 cover at the door)

December 13, 20 (Tuesdays)

Every Tuesday, enjoy some Dinner, Drinks and Jazz with the Raphael Semmes Quartet in the main dining room of Hal & Mal’s (no cover).

December 16-17

Enjoy two nights of The Weeks 16th Annual Mississippi Christmas Party with guests Twist at Martin’s Downtown. The Weeks’ swaggering, sludgy, and slightly southern indie rock expands over nine albums. GA tickets are $20.

Red and the Revelers with special guest Johnny Hayes at Duling Hall. Formed by singer/songwriter Red Padilla, the band Red and the Revelers is a high energy swamp soul band from Mobile. Armed with a full horn section, Red and the boys explode on stage in a firestorm of passion and riffs. GA tickets are $10.

December 17-18

Enjoy 2 performances of Ballet Magnificat’s Most Incredible Christmas at Thalia Mara Hall. With skilled ballet dancing set to heartwarming, familiar Christmas tunes from around the world, Most Incredible Christmas is a festive event for the whole family! Tickets start at $25.

December 22

The Vamps at Duling Hall. These stalwarts of the Jackson club scene are purveyors of an encyclopedia of styles ranging from Latin, deep funk, New Orleans, bebop, reggae, Memphis soul, jazz standards and blues. GA tickets are $15.

December 23

Few bands arouse a crowd into a collective shake like Flow Tribe (at Martin’s Downtown). The six-member band’s onstage chemistry reflects a seamless combination of soul and movement. Virgin listeners and avid fans alike are drawn in by the distinctive sound that feels both familiar and original. Everyone’s welcome! GA tickets are $15.

New Year’s Eve with Chad Wesley Band at Martin’s Downtown. Multi award-winning artist Chad Wesley is a Jackson-born singer and guitarist whose musical stylings mesh a wide variety of genres ranging from blues to rock. This high energy show with incredible live band is a great way to ring in the New Year! GA tickets are just $10.

49 Winchester takes Duling Hall by storm! With its latest album, “Fortune Favors the Bold,” the Virginia-based band is ready to go with its unique brand of tear-in-your-beer alt-country, sticky barroom floor rock-n-roll, and high-octane Appalachian folk. Shen Yun at Thalia Mara Hall. Featuring classical Chinese dance, dynamic animated backdrops, and all-original orchestral works, Shen Yun opens a portal to 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture, with deep spiritual roots and a profoundly optimistic worldview. The performance has been described as “divine... and hope[ful]. You have to see it to believe it.” Tickets start at $80.
