Guide to the Mississippi Science Fest

The 9th Annual Mississippi Science Fest (MSF), proudly presented by C Spire, is here to captivate minds and ignite curiosity! Hosted by the LeFleur Museum District (LMD), this event promises to be a celebration of innovation, education, and interactive learning. Mark your calendars for September 19-21, 2024, and get ready to explore a universe of possibilities!

LeFleur Museum District: A Hub of Discovery

Spanning four prestigious museums, the LeFleur Museum District is the beating heart of the Mississippi Science Fest, including the Mississippi Children’s Museum, MDWFP's Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Museum, and the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame and Museum. Each venue will offer a unique mix of exhibitors, special events, and programs for all ages.

September 19: Science After Hours

Kick off the MSF festivities with Science After Hours on September 19.

September 20: Field Trip Friday

Calling all educators and young minds! On September 20, the LeFleur Museum District invites you to embark on a STEM-themed adventure during Field Trip Friday from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. This immersive experience at all four museums promises hands-on activities that tie in with current math and science curricula, interactive exhibits, and engagement with nationally-renowned STEM professionals.

September 21: MS Science Fest STEAM Fair

Prepare to be amazed at the inaugural MS Science Fest STEAM Fair! Students in grades K-12 are encouraged to submit their finest science experiments between July 10 and August 18. Accompanied by short video presentations, these experiments will be evaluated by a panel of respected STEAM experts. Winners from each category will earn the chance to present their experiments at the grand event on September 16.

September 21: The Grand Finale – MS Science Fest

From 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, experience a world of discovery, learning, and entertainment at the MS Science Fest. For just $10, gain entry to all four participating museums, including shuttle rides and parking from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The event also features an array of food trucks and vendors, as well as the Ag Museum's General Store and Children's Museum's Red Rocket Cafe for bites and beverages.
