Three-Day JXN Fest Canceled

JXN Fest, a three-day music event scheduled for May 27, 28 & 29 at Buddy Butts Park in South Jackson, has been canceled.

JXN Fest issued the following statement on social media on Thursday, May 19:

”With less than two weeks until we would be together for the first annual JXN Fest, it is with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of the festival.

Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, we have been forced to cancel the festival scheduled to take place on May 27, 28, and 29. Countless hours of thought, energy, and effort have gone into cultivating the vision for JXN Fest while honoring the festival community that helped create it.

Ultimately, in part due to the climate of today's times, we feel like putting on JXN Fest would present too many situations that have the potential to do damage to not only our community but also our city and state. JXN Fest has been presented with numerous challenges: security concerns, infrastructure complications, threatening weather, and necessary procedures which are no longer possible. Despite the challenges, the festival organizers remained committed to the festival and finding out ways to make JXN Fest a safe and amazing event.

The cancellation of JXN Fest is not the future that the festival had hoped for. After extensive months of planning and execution, it is with a heavy heart that the festival
must shut its doors.

Every employee, artist, vendor, partner, and ticket buyer will be impacted so this decision has been excruciating to make. We are extremely grateful for your support of JXN
Fest and we are sorry that we have come to this moment.”
