The Other Welty
Literary giantess Eudora Welty lived most of her life in Jackson. Her home is designated a National Historic Landmark and is open as one of the most intact literary homes in America. The house is located in the Belhaven neighborhood, one of the most historically intact neighborhood in the country, indicative of popular notions of 20th century building styles. Welty’s brother, Edward, was one of the architects whose homes helped earn this neighborhood its national distinction.
